Families Adopting African Children... Could Be Bad?
I wonder how adopting children from Africa could have a bad effect for the children. Celebrities and rich foreigners (Americans are obviously foreign to Africa) like Madonna are believed to have adopted an African child. That's good... Right? Well, the move for the child could have a big effect on it's development of cultural and individual identities. For example, the child could have an emotional response. Another example noted in JunHyoung Kwon's blog post is that the children could have trouble socially. Like getting looks from society that he/she is African, but his/her parents are a completely different race. I agree with this reasoning that the child could have some trouble fitting into America, on the other side of the world. There could also be good reasons like, better home, quality of clothes and health. Would you think it's good or bad to adopt from Africa?

I'm on the fence about this. While it is good to get children into a healthier, cleaner, and an overall better environment, you have to wonder if it really is healthy. They probably haven't been exposed to diseases such as the flu or even the common cold! Most people that are raised in America are already exposed to that type of thing, but if they're from another part of the world, it can be very dangerous.
