I celebrate Diwali at home! I think Diwali is really fun! Diwali is an ancient holiday that even the ancient Indians used to celebrate(and still do) in autumn. Before Diwali day, people clean and renovate their houses. During the night of Diwali, Hindus wear their best outfits and light divas(or handmade candles and lamps) Diwali extends over a 5 day period, and it (Diwali) means the "festival of lights" because the Hindus celebrated the victory of light over darkness! Do you think that celebrating Diwali would be fun?
ReplyDeleteThe Festival of lights is very interesting to me. The people get up early to celebrate this holiday, like Americans on Christmas. A cool thing about this festival is it is celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, and Sikhs. This reminds me once again of Christmas. Christmas was first for the Christians but not just about every kid (in America) celebrates it. I think that this holiday would be fun.
