Malaria Good or Bad
When I was reading Riak post I was intrigued on how much malaria kills and separates families. In 2010 about 219 million cases of malaria occurred world wide and 660,000 had died (91% of Africans region). However people can easily prevent malaria by taking medicine before, during, and after a trip to another country. Many people think that malaria is a bad horrible disease thats no good in any way because of its bad name around Africa. Actually its not, many scientist have found a way to turn malaria into a cure for other diseases around Africa and the world. If you had the chance to make something good from bad would you?

I think it's really cool that some scientists have found a way for Malaria to be helpful. (Did I hear that right? Malaria, of all things!) The sickness causes millions of people to cover their homes in nets, and is responsible for over a million deaths, and yet can be used for good?! It sounds a bit impractical, to tell you the truth, killing people and then saving lives, but either way it sounds like a wonderful medical breakthrough!
ReplyDeleteI think it's cool how they can use this bad disease for good but, does this work most of the time? Getting a vaccine for this is not very hard. You can get it done at Walgreen's. People really have no reason to tell others "well if you want to go to and from this country you need a vaccine since this disease is not contagious nor can be spread can it be spread through intercourse so its only a danger to the person who won't pay the extra $120 dollars to risk not dying.
