Rhino meds
I found Logan's post interesting when he said that the poachers hunt rhinos for their horns. I found out that the horns are worth $300,000 in Vietnam because people believe that it cures many things like cancer and hangovers. A couple of weeks ago in Dublin Ireland, masked men robbed a museum not for priceless art but for rhino heads and their horns. I read this article where it says that Vietnam is hosting this "organized crime ring" that is linked to crimes in other countries. The horns have been in demand for many years. 1800 years ago they used the horn elixir to help with liver issues and cold/fevers.The demand was reduced in the 1990's, until in 2008 some respected doctors said that rhino horn cured cancer then the demand skyrocketed. Do you think its right for people to use rhino horns for hangovers, cancer or fevers/colds?
