You probably don’t remember learning about the Cape of New Hope in school last year but we did. It was about this Portuguese navigator who was trying to find a way to get to India by ship. His thoughts were that if he just sailed around Africa he’d get there eventually. (And he was right about that that) At one point, his ship almost crashed on some cliffs (during a strong storm) on what he thought was the tip of Africa. Because of that he named it the Cape of Storms which was then renamed later as the Cape of Good Hope, for other people who might travel on the same path in the future(Honestly that’s a much better name than Cape of Storms). Now it’s just a tourist attraction with a sign that says Cape of Good Hope. Which name do you prefer Storm… or Hope?

Beautiful place...I'd love to visit the Cape of Good Hope (or storms!) someday.
