The Holocaust was
an extremely tragic period lead by Nazis that lasted almost 6 and a half years!
During this time nearly eleven
million people were killed (six
million of them being Jewish), that is like wiping out the whole population of
Cuba! After the Holocaust there were only about 3,000,000 Jewish people left .
The Jews were captured by Nationalsozialistishe Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (Nazis)
and put into concentration camps. In the camps the Jews were forced into labor.
Mass murder happened in these camps. People in concentration camps died from
hunger, dehydration, being whipped, and being killed with harmful gases. In
addition to Jews, the Nazis targeted Gypsies, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses,
and the disabled for persecution. Anyone who resisted the Nazis was sent to
forced labor or murdered. These acts were lead by German dictator Adolf Hitler.
Adolf Hitler was born in 1889 in Braunau am Inn,
Austria-Hungary. Hitler was raised in a Catholic household. Throughout his
youth, Hitler dreamed of becoming an artist. He applied twice to the Vienna
Academy of Art (once in 1907 and again in 1908) but was denied entrance both
times. He also wanted to be a priest. During World War One ,Hitler was a
resident of Munich and volunteered to serve in the Bavarian Army as an Austrian
citizen. Hitler later became the
dictator of Germany in August 1934. He
lead the Nazis in the Holocaust. Even though he lead these soldiers in the war
to kill the Jews, he'd never even been to one of the concentration camps. It's
extremely strange that Hitler could kill Jewish people but he was all against
smoking and eating meat. In 1945 Hitler shot himself one time in the head
because he knew he was going to be taken alive by soldiers from Berlin. In 1939
Hitler was nominated for a noble peace prize, why do you think he was nominated
for this honorary award?`
The Holocaust ended at the end of WWII. The Nazi were
defeated due to being defeated in war. They were defeated by Russia and the U.S
who were called the allies. The Holocaust ended in certain places when the
allies let go of the prisoners in the camps in 1944-1945 But, before this act came, Germans killed as many Jews as the could
I read a book from the Holocaust; It is very sad so many people die and suffer. I hope nothing like that ever happens again! Do you think it was right too kill the children that would've die anyways in the camps from undernourishment and beatings.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that all this happened is very sad. That Hitler guy should not have been born for all the bad stuff he did! Sure, in his youth years he was innocent, but when he started killing other defenseless people, yeah, he should not be alive at that time. So, I’m kinda glad he shot himself. The people who nominated him for the noble prize, are stupid.
