Islam

Islam has by far the most followers in Southwest Asia today.They are called Muslims.One sound is the call of the muezzin, a person whose job is to call Muslims to pray.Muslims gather to worship in buildings called mosques.One of the most famous is the Dome of the rock.Jerusalem is holy to Jews, Christians, and Muslims because events important to their religions took place there.The golden-domed building is the Dome of the Rock.It stands over the rick from which Muslims believe the prophet Muhammad rose into heaven.
