The Long History Of Afghanistan

The Long History of Afghanistan


     Afghanistan has had a long history other than just the war between the US and itself. In 500 B.C. it was conquered by Darius I from Babylon. In 329 B.C. it was taken over my Alexander the Great of the Macedonians. Mahmud from Ghazni took over this area in the 11th century. In the 13th century Genghis Khan took over this area, and many times after until 1870 Arab forces took over the area. During the recent 19th Century right before WWI Britain tried to take over Afghanistan three times, but was cut off when WWI came. Afghanistan made major government changes from Monarchy to Communism to Democracy then back to communism when the USSR invaded. Everyone should know the following history of 9/11 and al-Qaida.     Wow! I did not know that afganistan was taken over so many times! Its amazing how older countrys have had so much history and have been besieged so many times! Also i did not know that Britian tryed to take over afganistan I thuaght that was realy interesting. and i do think some country will try to take over afganistan again.
