Violence is Never the Answer

In the Central African Republic Christian militias have been committing ethnic cleansing against Muslims living within the country. Most of the Muslims have fled to other countries or camps within the country. However, the Christians claim they have the right to do this because of atrocities committed by the Muslims last year. The president of the country, Catherine Samba-Panza, has declared a war of sorts against theses Christian Militias. Finally, the country now faces a collapse in food distribution, due to the fat that lots of the Muslims that were killed or fled were traders or involved in the food business. This has caused lots of people to not have a food supply anymore. Subsequently, the UN was delivered food to the country, but there was only enough to feed about 1.3 million people, or about a quarter of the population.  I feel that these events are terrible, and that the Christians are in the wrong here.  It is against the laws of Christianity to commit murder, yet these Christians are slaughtering massive amounts of Muslims. They are also hurting themselves, since they are affected by the food shortages just as much as anyone else. What are your views on these serious issues?

  1. I think this is just terrible thinking on both sides parts. The christian militias are going against their own religion, It is against the laws of Christianity to murder others. Yet starting a war against these militias is not a good idea. This has happened so many times in so many place, two third world countries or groups starting a ''war'' that turns into a long uncivilized slaughter. I think some sort of outside force may be needed to stop this from continuing.

  2. My view on this issue is that it's awful. I think that the 7,000 troops from Africa and France might not be enough to stop the Christian military from killing more Muslims and restoring order to that area however i also think it was wrong for the Muslim Seleka rebels to storm through the country which happened last year.
