Everyone loves the Olympics! Everyone looks forward to them
every four years. It’s a great time to hang out with your family while cheering
for your country. The Olympics all started in 776 b.c. They were dedicated to
the Olympian gods who lived in Olympia. The Olympic Games were initially a one
day event until 684 BC, when they were extended to three days. In the 5th
century B.C., the games were extended again to cover five days. The Olympic
Games included running, long jump, shot put, javelin, boxing, pankration and
equestrian events. The Olympics have changed a lot over the years. They have
more games and cover a few weeks. We even have different Olympics for the
disabled, and it all started with the ancient Greeks. What would life be like
without them?

The Olympics are one of the greatest gatherings of people from all over the world. A lot of people trained for many years on end for the Olympics, and still do right now. Life without the Olympics would mean very few gatherings of people from all over the world, besides sporting events.
ReplyDeleteGood post James. I think its so cool how much the Olympics have changed since the old Olympics like how now girls can participate in the Olympics. Also there are more events like gymnastics, weight lifting, bike riding, and even ping pong. And my favorite event basketball. i think with out the Olympics the World would go into an all out war because people all over the world like to compete with other people. What do you think life would be without the Olympics?
