Hammurabi's Code
The ancient world is truly amazing and is the foundation of the life we know. One of the ancient moments that is most interesting to me is Hammurabi's Code. Hammurabi, the ruler of Babylonia, created this code so that his people wouldn't become criminals or want to hurt each other. The code was designed so that the punishment for a crime would be similar to the crime committed and people would think twice before attacking you. The code was more than a way to punish criminals, it also had laws on trade, labor, property, adopting children, practicing medicine, and many more laws similar to our laws. In fact, Hammurabi's code consists of 282 laws! What do you think about the code?

Brett, I really enjoyed reading your thoughts about Hammurabi's Code. I truly believe that the code is fair. The only thing I didn't like about the code is how if people hurt other people consistently, that your population would diminish very quickly. Even with that in mind, I still think that the code is pretty good and keeps people loyal to others. What do you think about Hammurabi's Code Brett?
