Beware The Tsetse Fly
The Tsetse fly is dangerous and is the cause of the deadly African sleeping sickness. The African sleeping sickness is infection with germs thus carried by the Tsetse fly. The African sleeping sickness can also cause the swelling of the brain. The Tsetse fly lives in more than 36 regions but only causes the disease in some of the places it is found. So the sleeping sickness has infected about seven million. In conclusion what would you do if you had sleeping sickness?

The Tsetse fly seems very dangerous, but I found that there are certain traps that have been very effective. One that drew my attention is that people hang large blue electric sheets. The flies are attracted to the blue color of the sheets and when they attack the sheet, they get electrocuted and killed. I wonder if there is a way to catch the fly alive to help with finding a cure to sleeping sickness?
ReplyDeleteIf I had a sleeping sickness, I would go the doctor, or hospital, right away! From what you said, I wouldn't want to be infected with that disease and have my brain swell! That would be awful. It sounds like the Tsetse Fly is pretty common in Africa because it lives in 36 regions which is quite a few. If it is common, you would have to try to wear protective gear, whenever you're in hazardous areas. The sleeping sickness disease sounds like a major killer.
