One of the most
successful civilizations was the Romans The Romans empire began growing around
the early Bronze Age. Since the discovery of bronze, the roman legions at its
height had conquered Spain, Italy, Greece, Egypt, Gaul, and Macedonia. The Romans were also very religious people and were much disciplined.
They were very serious polytheists and always prayed to war gods before going
to battle. But there is something that is kind of strange with the Roman
religion. The religion is actually based off the Greek religion after the
Romans conquered Greece. The Romans had changed the names
of the gods and made their version of the Greek myths. What do you think of the Romans?

What I think is think is that the Romans were one of the most successful civilizations but they did take a lot of things from other cultures. If the romans were not an empire and simply a civilization i think it would just collapse at the seams. No civilization can claim all of its inventions and success as purely their own. All though I think the romans heavy use of bronze was more advanced than any other culture on the planet at the time, although the first to use bronze were the Chinese the Iraq and Iran. Bronze was found there as early as 4000BC keep in mind the romans were about 1000BC-1AD. BC is before AD, So the higher the BC, the farther back in time. But if the Romans never used bronze what would happen?
ReplyDeleteIt’s almost like the Romans were a melting pot, I mean they used Greek gods with different names and different stories, maybe the Romans were a big melting pot! Either that or they stole the religion and tried to make it unique. So do you think that they are a melting pot, or religion thieves?
