Tricked
Sadly, India has the highest amount of child labor cases in the world. The number of forced child work has increased from 1991 to 2001. Some are forced to work outside in cotton fields or picking other crops working 14-16 hours a day. Others work in sweatshops like the boy in the book I am reading, Gopal. He was tricked into working like many others are. They are promised a good paying job at a factory and then wake up, captured for many many years. In the book Gopal was looking for work to support his very poor family. He met a boy and he told him that his uncle had a jobs open at the 'factory' and before Gopal had the chance to tell him he couldn't take it due to school he was drugged and brought the factory. Sadly scenarios like this happen all the time. Many kids are tricked when they are just trying to help out their struggling families. What do you think should be done about this trickery?

I think the government should support the family’s that have children as there income to eat and stay healthy. They could do it by giving food to the needy and shutting down child labor factories around the world to cut down on child casualties too. The reason the kids work is for a roof over their head and some food in their family’s table, even though there are many homeless shelters in the US there is not many in other contraries, such as Asia, Africa, and South America. The kids as young as 7 where sent out to work in dangerous factory.
ReplyDeleteWow Logan, I never knew this was happening in the world. I actually agree a lot with Alana. The government should really support the families in need. I really can't believe that a boy had to go through this situation. Maybe I can pick this book up some time! Did you know that India's poverty and the lack of security are the main cause of this problem? Did you also know that child labor grows as years go on? I really think that we need to put a stop to this. Logan, you have a lot of spelling mistakes. Thank you for sharing.

ReplyDeleteThat's not really being tricked because they drugged him without him being able to react. So everything you just said has nothing to do with trickery. Also you should try using a editing tool and capitalizing things more. Also yes many kids are tricked and brought to work in factories but not always are they drugged when they go. A lot of the time kids are brought to factories to “pay” off their family’s debt (even though it is never repaid).
