Ongoing Fight Against Child Slavery

Child slavery still is a looming possibility in the more poor and urban areas of the world. My book is about a child put into child slavery in the city of Mumbai. Currently in Mumbai child slavery is still very common, however there have been many anti child slavery campaigns to stop this, such as this one.

The book I’m reading has a single main character named Gopal, he has been caught and sent to child slavery in a sort of shop. However it should not be confused that working is child slavery, many children choose to work to support their family. If they are not payed and are forced to work like Gopal, then it is child slavery.

  1. Well you need to realize. If they work even if it is low pay high risk and long hours. If the person chooses to work like that it is not slavery. That's overkill. My mother worked in a factory with low pay as a child by her own choice. She wanted to support her family, even though the pay was low. This is not slavery, this is just normal work. Slavery is when they are FORCED to work, and they are NOT PAYED.
