Ranger Drone Is In Town!
I just read Alex L.'s post about having drones protect the wildlife. In his blog he mentions that in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a hunting preserve near Mount Kenya in Kenya, there are many animals, some of which are endangered! These animals are being threatened by poachers and crime syndicates so they sent out drones to protect the animals. Mainly the rhinos are in danger. The drones will cost around $220 an hour, but it will be able to show the video live to rangers 24/7 as well as recording it to be used as evidence if needed. Even though the drones are automatic, it is possible to manually fly it.

Well that is a really cool blog post Justin! In Africa, it is true that animals are being poached for their skins or tusks and sold for a high price. It is sad that many poachers leave these animals defenseless to die. The rest of the animal is sadly not used and wasted when it could have been fed to many poor people. I was watching a video on what exactly the drones do. Most of the poachers are caught using a thermal vision camera attached to the drone. Huray for technology!
