The Drones Are Coming! The Drones Are Coming!

      In Will J's post he highlighted the Indiegogo project trying to bring Aerial Ranger drones to protect the endangered wildlife in the Ol Pejeta wild animal reserve. The Indiegogo project surpassed their goal of $35,000 by raising just about $46,000! The Aerial Ranger that they are getting made is specially made for the task of observing, tracking as well as just plain protecting the Ol Pejata's wildlife. For $220 an hour, these drones at first glance may seem too expensive for the task, but Kenya (where Ol Pejata is located) lost 50 rhinos to poachers alone, and Ol Pejata being the largest black rhino sanctuary needs to step up it's game. What do you think of drones being used as more then an Amazon shipping technique?

    I think that the drone idea is a really good idea! Poachers will know that there is a drone flying above them watching everything that they do and won't want to poach the animals. I really like that the people of the Ol Petjeta area are trying to find new ways to stop the poachers from killing the rhinos. I also think it is awesome that so many people donated to help the Aerial Ranger project take off. Did you know that in Kenya alone a population of 20,000 black rhinos dropped to 300 due to poaching. Poachers really need to be stopped so these rhino won't become extinct. I wonder how many people donated to make this Aerial Ranger project happen?
