Want a Snow Day? Wear Your Pajamas Inside Out. Want to Show You Disapprove of Your Team Owner? Wear Your Jersey Inside Out.
We all know that what Donald Sterling did was wrong. He did keep his opinion private, but now it's public. Yes he has a right to his opinion, but some people just need to realize that we are all human. Is that so hard? Apparently it is because reports of racism are coming up all over the world. From Paula Deen to a fan at a soccer game in Spain throwing a banana on the field racism is everywhere in our lives. As for the Clippers, it is great to see all of the support they are getting from fans. I think boycotting the game would not have been a successful move. Although it would have show that the fans are not in support of Sterling, some people might of seen it as the people not showing support for the team. I think that yes Sterling did have a right to his opinion, but I don't think he deserves to own a team if he is going to talk badly about people on his team. In a perfect world people would get the big picture and finally understand that we are all equal. Until then all we can do is show support for the victims of racism and keep opinions that don't need to be shared inside. Do you think there is more we can do to minimize racism?

I agree with what you said about how everybody is entitled to their opinions but should realize that everyone is human. Plus, Donald Sterling is making racist remarks against the very people that make him rich and famous. I don't think there is much more we can do to minimize racism because some people are just never going to change their ways even if they have to face consequences. Sadly, some people will just never get the big picture.
ReplyDeleteI think that to minimize racism people should say what they think just not to the wrong people, because then if you tell the right person you could release your feelings about the other people but if you tell the wrong person they could get mad and maby violent. I found that to relieve stress about racism in some countries they are making big festivals for both black and white. So then people can be proved wrong about what was so bad about the other race and that they were the same. Do you think that the US should do this also?
